inspiring story

I wasted many years playing football because I wanted to please my parents and be like a relative of mine who plays football for a rich club in Europe.

As I hit on the round leather in the hope of getting signed in a big club in Europe, my parents and all my siblings cheered for me; not because I find pleasure in the game but because of the money, they heard my relative who was a footballer was earning.

In fact, I was playing football to impress them and to be like my relative-two wrong reasons for playing football. Even though I discovered early in life I love buying and selling things, I keep wasting my life and time on the field until I had a serious knee injury.

For months, I was on the hospital bed blaming myself and all those who urged me to do what I had no business in. As soon as I recovered, I swore never to go near a football field let alone play football.

Meanwhile, my relative who had suffered knee injury time without number was still playing football with a smile.

In fact, one day, I overheard him telling a teammate of his that, the last time he was on the hospital bed for a knee injury, he felt like getting up to play football. It was then I came to the realization that something has happened to this guy psyche.

I learned that if you don’t love what you do you can never become an expert in it because you won’t do it with much conviction. People give up easily because they are on the wrong path.

If you aspire to be successful in life, you must follow your heart and not the crowd; because the crowd will only lead you to where you will hang yourself.

“If I drop out of school to pursue my interest or follow my passion what will people say? Won’t friends and foes ridicule me when they hear I have dropped out of school to become a comedian?”

You are looking at how many people will laugh at you, but you forget how many sad faces you are going to light up with smile because you decided to follow your passion and live out your purpose.

Remember, it is the sad faces you light up with a smile as a comedian that will make you rich and famous and not your parents you pleased by becoming a medical doctor.

To attain an enviable height, you must understand that it is your passion that will grow and ripen your will to succeed. When we follow our passion, something happens to our psyche to bring about the change we aspire for.

Don’t live your life in people’s way Richard P. Feynman said, “You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It is their mistake, not my failing.”

One of the reasons you are still where you are today is that you care too much of what People think or say. Simply put, you live your life in people’s way.

There are things you find pleasurable you are not doing because you concern yourself with people’s reaction. Understand that as long as people have mouths they will always use it to say what they like and so long as they have a mind they will always use it to think whatever they like. There is nothing you can do about it.

It is madness to allow what they will think or say become your cup of tea. Even if you decide to start living in their way, they will still say something. In fact, they will say you are not original. If you let what people think or say dictates how you live your life you are finished.

A Mexican telecom giant and one time richest man in the world Carlos Slim Helu thought about this when he said, “I don’t want to live thinking about how I will be remembered.”

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates was able to get to the legendary heights he stands today because he cares less what you think or says about him.

In fact, he knows your words or thoughts can’t put a dollar in his pocket or take a dollar out of it, which is why he left Harvard to fully devote himself to Microsoft without looking at Mr. and Mrs. Johnson’s face.

If you wait for everyone to understand your move in life, you will never move an itch. Don’t become a doctor to please your father, because you may end up killing your mother.

If you become a priest because you lost your manhood by the time you regain it back you will start chasing after women. Doing things because of, makes success impossible; it is the surest way to fail.

Answer the questions below sincerely if you which to discover and live out your purpose

1. “If you could do anything for 8 hours a day for the rest of your life, and money were no object, what would you do?”

Apple founder Steve Job has just asked you a question I am sure will change your life forever. Please close your eyes and take about five minutes to reflect on it because you are just about to discover your purpose-the reason why you are on planet earth.

The first thing that comes to your mind this very moment is that which you are born to do- it is your life purpose.

No matter how dire an insurmountable the financial challenge you will have to face for now may be, you must trade everything including your present job for it. No matter what anyone thinks or say, you must follow it because it is the only path designed to take you to the utmost top.

Remember, it was because Muhammad Ali followed his, he was able to attain legendary height.

2. Why are you in that field of life?

Are you in business because your mother owns a shop or because you find doing business pleasurable? If it is because you saw Floyd Mayweather supercars that you want to become a boxer, then permit me to pay my condolence in advance.

One of the major reasons many People go through life as failures is that they spend their precious time trying to be like someone else or trying to please someone. Things don’t work that way because we are wired in different ways.

What is good for you may not be good for me! The Youngman that wanted to become a footballer at all cost is a successful entrepreneur today. The moment he plugged into the right socket he started soaring in life.

A great mind said, “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds.

Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.

Your bank account has not hosted a huge figure not because you don’t bear a charmed life but simply because you have not discovered that one path that can lead you to wealth.

If you don’t find a smile on your face whenever you are in your work environment, quickly abandon that job and ponder on Steve Jobs question to discover that one path that was designed to take you to the top.

3. Are you in the habit of waiting for people’s approval before taking a step?

Remember, if Thomas Edison had waited for friends and relatives to understand his idea before moving into action, we may still be using candles and lanterns today.

The reason you can travel from one continent to another within few hours today is that the Wright brothers didn’t wait for their uncles and aunties to understand their plans before implementing it.

The man with an idea is a moron until he succeeds. If you see a man climber a mighty mountain knows he didn’t tell anyone about it or shut his ears. If you wish to attain the height envisaged you must learn to do any of these things or both.

In sum, when you learn to shut your ears or your mouth and do the right thing, things will start working for you at a pace you never thought possible. Thanks for giving me your time.

I wish you a resounding success in your pursuits.
