Elizabeth Anne Velásquez was born on March 13, 1989, in Austin, Texas with a rare condition known as Marfanoid–progeroid–lipodystrophy syndrome — a rare genetic disorder that affects her heart, eyes, and bones, and makes it impossible for her to gain weight.

In fact, she has never weighed more than 29 kg (64 lbs) and reportedly has almost 0% body fat. She is also blind in her right eye, and vision-impaired in her left eye. Her conditions resulted in bullying during her childhood.

In 2006 when she was 17 years of age, she was dubbed the ugliest woman in the world after her video appeared on YouTube. Many people bullied her with some advising her to commit suicide because of her looks!

At first, she was devastated when she learned she had been crowned the ugliest woman in the world but she resolved to stand firm to fight and proof those who think there is no beauty in her wrong.

In fact, she turned the situation to her favor by using the hate to motivate millions of others to beat back the bullies. These won her millions of admirers all over the world.

Lizzie Velásquez has become a sought-after motivational speaker, an anti-bullying activist; author of four life-transforming books, and of course, an inspiration to millions of people in the U.S And all over the world.
