Life/Happiness

One of the best ways to tell your critics to shut up and go look for something better to do is to keep silence. There is potency in silence; it is unfortunate that a lot of people don’t know this. They don’t know that silence can serve as a wipe.

If you know the usefulness of silence you will think twice before opening your mouth. In fact, you can use it to flog your critics and enemies. The prominent reason people badmouth you is to make you feel bad.

Some people are not happy with how life is treating them; they see no reason why you should be happy. To them your smile is an offense. In fact, your joy beats them.To this set of people, everything you say or do is wrong.

You undermine your ability to be happy whenever you open your ears to their unprintable words and trade venom with them. In fact, you are moving the smile on your face to theirs if you do this. Sometimes silence can seem so loud!

The best thing to say sometimes is nothing. If a madman says something and you raises your voice at him, everyone will come to the conclusion that both of you are mad.

According to a great mind, “In human intercourse the tragedy begins, not when there is a misunderstanding about words, but when silence is not understood.”

Life is too short! Don’t negotiate your happiness with anyone. It is easy to see a door that is opening when you are in a good mood. A man or woman that is in the habit of dwelling on the unprintable things people say about him or her cannot see the door that is opening.

Why? Simply because his mind will be submerged with the kind of thoughts that is fatal to happiness and success. It will be difficult if not impossible for such a person to see the opportunities passing bye.

What I am saying in essence is that happy people achieve more in life and live longer. If you which to succeed and live a long life you must learn to practice the virtue called silence. Not everything people say about you, you must respond to.

Sometimes your response can become the weapon they will use to steal away the smile on your face. If you know how to apply silence nothing in the whole of the universe can steal the smile on your face or temper with your joy.

In short, people will have no choice but to respect and think highly of you. Remember, it is hard to raise your hand at the man who says nothing.

The press knows how to make money! If they discover you are the kind of celebrity that is quick in raising your voice, they will continue to write unprintable things about you, because they know your response will make them get richer.

The press hates your silence more than death because they know it can kick them out of business.

The black social crusader Martin Luther King Jr. knows how important and expensive silence is that is why he said, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends.”

Silence means “Sorry I can’t hear what you say. “ It means “Shut up go look for something better to do.” It means, “Shut up, you are not fit to be talking with me”

Whenever someone says unprintable things about you before you get mad and raise your voice try to remember the three things listed below.

1. Some people open their mouth because they must say something

Understand that some people badmouth you not because they hate you or are envious of you but because they must say something. You are the topic of conversation because you happen to be passing by at the time they had nothing to say.

Sometimes if you hear the crazy things your neighbors  or friends said about you, instead of getting mad and trading venom feels pity for them.

Oh yes, they deserve your sympathy. If you are patient to look at the whole thing with a positive mind you will discover that they have all the time in the world to talk about you because they are idle. Remember, an idle mind is the devils’ workshop.

2. They are envious of you

Sometimes instead of beating yourself over what people said about you, laugh over it. It calls for celebration because people only throw a stone at a ripe fruit, not an unripe one.

The most criticized person in a nation is usually the president. Remember, if there is nothing special about you nobody will waste his or her precious time and energy talking about you.

Your matter has become a topic for them because they wish to be like you. You have what they don’t have. You are everything they are not that is why they are so upset with you. That is why they are ready to go to any length to make you feel unhappy.

How many times do you hear people talk of a mad person? If you can understand this simple thing you won’t waste your time trading venom with anyone or feeling sad.

3. They want you to say something

One of the reasons people badmouth you is because they want to prove that you are not a gentleman. They want to prove that you are like them.

By raising your voice you have proved them right. If you keep silence enough before long, your critic will realize how foolish they are. Anytime people say unprintable things about you try to remember these three things listed above.

Life is too short; don’t negotiate your happiness with anybody. Don’t permit anyone to make you feel sad. Wish you all the best in life.
