Success Advice

Bill Gates is so rich that if he were to drop a $1000 bill on the ground he would have earned it back in the four seconds it takes to pick it up. If he were a country, he would be the 37th richest country on earth.

He once told a university professor that he would be a millionaire by the age of 30, interestingly, before his 31st birthday, he became a billionaire.

I want you to understand that the reason this man’s money is nearing the sky or touching it today is not because his name is Bill Gates or that he is an American. Remember, they are many people in the world bearing the name Bill Gates that are wallowing in poverty, many Americans struggling to survive.

Success is not determined by your geographical location, appellation, age, appearance, the nation where you live or the economy in which you function, but by aligning yourself with its vibration. A thing does not need a white or black skin to work, so long as you do it right it will work.

This truth is fundamental to human progress; when we stay conscious of it, it opens up our eyes to the ultimate truth. Simply put, it opens up your eyes to the secrets of success. In fact, the knowledge of this fact possesses the power to change your attitude toward life.

Remember, when your attitude changes, success becomes inevitable. Despite the fact that Gates, through the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, is giving out so much of his wealth, how come he remains at the top of Forbes list of world richest person for more than a decade?

Don’t tell me you haven’t stopped to ask yourself this question. Do you consider him lucky or feel the grace of God is upon him. If you are in this school of thought, I want to quickly inform you that Gates is not a religious person and so does not believe in mere luck or God’s grace.

He does not consider connection or luck as a success formula; don’t believe any amount of wishing, hoping and praying in the world can put a dollar in anyone’s pocket. That is why he said, “I think it makes sense to believe in God, but exactly what decision in your life you make differently because of it, I don’t know.”

Yes, it is true he is a genius; but that is because his enthusiasm for his dream is iron and his appetite for reading is a lion.He attains an enviable height because:

1. He reads constantly

Hear him, “I really had a lot of dreams when I was a kid and I think a great deal of that grew out of the fact that I had a chance to read a lot.”

Reading more than anything else changed Gates outlook toward life and stirred up thoughts of possibilities on his mind. He was able to dream big and achieve it because at a time he came to the realization that nothing was impossible.

How? By reading constantly the stories of men and women who achieved great dreams despite being mocked and told repeatedly that such a thing wasn’t possible. The truth is it is easy to fight with a lion if you know these two things.

The names of people who fought with it. How they killed it Remember, knowledge they say is power.

2. His Beliefs are powerful

One of the reasons you have not made a millionaire dollar is because you don’t believe in it. You have small things not because you are not cut out for big ones but because you don’t believe in them.

The first secret to climbing a mountain is to see yourself on top of it. The king of rock music Elvis Presley once recounts: “When I was a boy, I always saw myself as a hero in comic books and movies. I grew up believing this dream.”

Just like Elvis Presley, Bill Gates was able to envision a world where the computer will be in every home because his beliefs are huge. To achieve a dream is not the problem, the problem is to dream it and believe you can achieve it.

If you believe with the whole of your being that you can climb a mountain, no matter how high it is you will definitely climb it. The problem is to believe that you can, not the mighty mountain. If you can believe it is achievable, to do that which it takes for that dream to translate into reality will be easy for you.

It is impossible to pursue a dream when your mind is submerged with dark thoughts. Before you dream, you must do away with negative minded people; avoid questionable places, read “inspirational books” on the subject of success in order to stir up thoughts of possibilities and triumph on your mind.

Bill Gates was able to drop out of Harvard in 1975 to fully devote himself to his idea because his mind was filled with possibilities and triumph. This consciousness more than anything else, helped him to surmount obstacles on his way to success.

Don’t waste your time praying to get rich if you don’t see yourself as a millionaire.

3. Each time he sets a goal he moves into action

Gate did not wait to graduate from Harvard before pursuing his goal, because as a Wise man he knew the passion to do that may not be there if wait. The right time to pursue a goal is when you set it.

If you wait for tomorrow you will discover a thousand reasons not to start at dawn. Gates knows goodhearted affluent friends could raise one from rag to riches, grass to grace. He knows having an influential father and mother means connection.

He also knows a good visionary leader can indeed create an opportunity for his people. But he just resent the idea of waiting for assistance. Why? Because he knows that the errand you send yourself brings the quickest result.

This is why he started carving his own path at an early age, a path that led him to the legendary height he stands today. The truth is you will never have money until you decide to have it.

Where you want to be, that in my humble opinion, is precisely where you are. You have not decided to be rich that is why the heavy rain and scorching sun can prevent you from sowing a seed. If you decide to run a race, believe me, you won’t see the long legs of your co-contestant.
